The Strong-Drive SWD Double-Threaded Screw is a high-performance structural fastener engineered for exterior wood-to-wood applications, including deck ledgers and general framing. Double thread design and unthreaded mid-shank, this screw delivers consistent clamping force while minimizing wood splitting and over-driving.
Crafted for demanding environments, it features a corrosion-resistant double-barrier coating, ensuring long-term durability even in outdoor exposure. The low-profile head provides a clean, flush finish.
Key Features:
- Double-Threaded: Grips both members of the wood connection for superior withdrawal resistance.
- Unthreaded Mid-Shank: Allows wood members to draw tightly together, creating a stronger joint and reducing friction during driving.
- Black Double-Barrier Coating: Built to withstand harsh outdoor environments.
- Flush Head Design: Sits cleanly against the surface to reduce snagging and create a sleek finish.
- Precision Engineered: Delivers consistent performance across multiple wood species and densities.
Applications:
- Deck ledger attachments to rim joists
- General exterior wood framing
- Pergolas, porches, and outdoor structural assemblies
- Wood-to-wood connections where high withdrawal strength is required
Installation:
- No pre-drilling required in most applications, thanks to its screw chisel point
- Use with a standard driver or impact driver
- For best results, drive the screw until the head is flush with the wood surface—avoid overdriving
- Can be used with treated lumber, following coating compatibility guidelines
