The Simpson 12 Gauge Cedar and Redwood Decking Nail is purpose-built for outdoor wood applications where strength, corrosion resistance, and appearance all matter. At 2-1/2″ in length and made from 316 stainless steel, this nail is ideal for securing thicker decking boards into framing while withstanding harsh coastal or moisture-heavy environments.
Designed to prevent staining on natural wood species like cedar and redwood, this smooth-shank nail drives cleanly and holds strong – delivering long-term reliability with a finish-grade head that blends discreetly into the wood surface.
Key Features:
- 316 Stainless Steel – Marine-grade corrosion resistance for salt air, moisture, and treated lumber.
- 12 Gauge x 2-1/2″ Length – Perfect for thicker deck boards and long-lasting hold into structural framing.
- Smooth Shank Design – Minimizes wood splitting, ideal for softer woods like cedar and redwood.
- Low-Profile Head – Blends into the surface for a clean, professional finish on visible decking.
- Stain-Free Performance – Won’t cause black streaks or discoloration common with inferior fasteners.
Applications:
- Cedar and redwood deck boards
- High-end residential decking
- Coastal and salt-exposed structures
- Pergolas, boardwalks, and dock platforms
- Pressure-treated or naturally durable exterior wood builds
Installation:
